Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hard surfaces

A revitalized Medvedev claimed his maiden trophy for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging period, winning just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the American major.

His varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - caused him dropping out of the top ten and eventually parting ways with former coach his previous coach.

Presently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought three-set win over opponent Moutet.

This marks the player's initial trophy following the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt since that period of 2023.

Victory also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one different events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to get a title is especially meaningful," commented ranked player the champion.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.

His retrieving approach and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had led commentators to doubt if his ability to play at the top level was concluded.

However the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, attempting to advance forward and compete assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.

He fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, taking 4 of the final five games to take the lead.

The pair swapped break points in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his first ATP Tour title, gained dominance to force a decider.

Moutet rescued 4 initial chances in a competitive final set before the Russian secured a break to that score to serve for the match.

Suitably, the winner clinched victory with a shot at the net, with Moutet incapable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
